Nose Correction (Nose Job, Rhinoplasty)

Nose surgery is one of the most difficult branches of plastic surgery. It enables to correct post-traumatic deformities, congenital defects, as well as deformities caused by diseases or individual features.

Nose surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 3 hours. It includes shaping the cartilaginous and bony framework of the nose, removing the hump and repositioning the nasal septum to increase airflow. Sometimes the procedure also involves nasal wings reduction.

After the surgery, the patient needs to wear a plaster cast on the nose for 7 days to support the nose’s new shape. For 3 months after the surgery the nose must be carefully protected from any injury and strenuous physical exercise must be avoided.

Nose swelling which is especially strong during the first 14 postoperative days, will resolve within 2 months. The final shape of the nose may be evaluated after approximately 12 months from the surgery.

The surgery is performed on patients who are in general good shape and have normal lab results.
